Pinwheels for Danica :)

Danica's mom is one of my friends and an amazing cupcake baker :) check her out at www.thankyousweets.info
For Dani's birthday, I made her this pinwheel cake. I love disco dust! of course after I made this cake, it's now several months later and I still find disco dust all over the house, including on my kids faces, haha
I love the theme too, so original, and pinwheels are something I remember from childhood. Which kid doesn't love pinwheels, right??
Happy Birthday Dani!!

So cute!! How did you make the pinwheels?

Hello, I made the pinwheels out of square pieces of fondant, which were decorated, then I cut about an inch in from each corner toward the center, and folded one of the corner flaps in, and secured it with a drop of water. The dot in the center was a circle of fondant I used a straw to cut out. Thanks! :)

Hi love your lettering. How did you make it, it looks hand modelled? It looks great

And just how did you "decorate" the fondant before you cut it into the pinwheels? LOVE THIS CAKE!

Absolutely gorgeous. I'd also be interested in finding out how to decorate the icing and how to do the letters. It'd be fab if I could make something like this for my kids.

Did you roll flower moulding paste into snakes, then shape them into letters? Would love to know how you make your lettering. Thanks.
